California Climate and Agriculture Network’s Executive Director Renata Brillinger believes CalCAN to be the only US organization combining words “climate” and “agriculture” in its title. Why are cultivators of the soil, those most attuned to weather’s daily vagaries, often amongst the staunchest of climate change deniers? How can agriculture, which fundamentally draws atmospheric CO2 into plant material through managed photosynthesis, be responsible for 30% of greenhouse gas emissions?

Brillinger and Full Belly Farm’s Judith Redmond attempt to answer such questions for “Down on the Farm” host Tom Willey in a wide-ranging discussion this July 4th. Tune in to KFCF 88.1FM from 5 – 6 pm this Friday evening, for practical solutions to carbon’s pollution from our daily fare’s “three squares”.
