Organic Labeling Misrepresentation — Update

Organic_Watchdog_buttonWith the help of Cornucopia members in the New York City area we are very pleased to report that we have concluded the initial phase of the investigation at Organic Avenue.

Their updated labeling has clarified some of the concerns articulated by consumers in the past and the vast preponderance of their products appear to qualify for organic labeling.

There appears to be a minority of products that they sell that are not organic.  We have started a dialogue with their management and hope to report back to the organic community that the last few areas of concern have been addressed.

If you purchased non-organic products at Organic Avenue we would still like to know about it.  But for now we are removing the company as a formal target of investigation.

NOTE:   We would still like to hear from consumers who have purchased products from Newman’s Own Organics and Organic Bistro that were not truly organic.
