Current organic standard allow farmers to spray apple and pear trees with antibiotics. These same standards prohibit the use of antibiotics in animal feed, or to stimulate the growth or production of livestock but not organic fruit. It’s unacceptable for the industry to be allowed to use these sprays when consumers expect that their organic food would contain no antibiotic residues whatsoever.
