Your moment to impact the Farm Bill

Community-scale organic farmers work extraordinarily hard to bring us the food future we all need. And now, they need us in their corner.

The House passed a Farm Bill that has gravely disappointed the organic community, and now that bill is headed for the Senate. Please take five minutes today to call or write your senators and urge them to fight for organic farmers and food in the Farm Bill.

What’s at stake:

Integrity in organic
Without adequate resources, the NOP can’t effectively track and address organic fraud, review certifier compliance, or respond to concerns from farmers and consumers.

Meaningful investment
Soil-based organic production offers huge wins for the environment and human health. Funding must reflect that.

Tomorrow’s organic farmers
The Farm Bill should make it easier for farmers to opt out of chemically intensive production.

Ask your senators to:

    • Increase funding for the National Organic Program

    • Expand financial support for organic certification, known as “cost-share”

    • Invest in programs that support transition to organic production

    • Ensure conservation funding reaches organic farmers equitably

We urge you to call your senators directly if you can. A real person’s voice on the phone is harder to ignore.

Senators John Boozman (AR) and Amy Klobuchar (MN) chair the Senate Agriculture Committee and will play an important role in shaping this bill. If you have connections in Arkansas or Minnesota, please share this alert with them.

Thank you for standing with the farmers who are building the food system we need.
