Anne Ross, Cornucopia’s Organic Investigator, has been elected to the North America board of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). Together with affiliates across more than 100 countries and territories, IFOAM speaks out on behalf of the organic food and farming community and raises awareness about the urgent need to make organic agriculture part of the solution to global challenges.
Anne’s extensive research and fieldwork in Eastern Europe, focusing on fraud in global supply chains, have informed crucial reforms in federal laws related to imported organic food. She continues to actively investigate organic fraud under the USDA label within the US.
As an attorney, Anne represents victims of labor trafficking pro bono and has frequently lectured on human trafficking in agriculture, including as an adjunct professor at the Charleston School of Law. Her expertise in international agricultural issues will greatly benefit IFOAM’s mission of promoting sustainable and equitable farming practices.
Catch Anne at the Common Ground Country Fair in Unity, Maine, and the Real Organic Project’s Churchtown Dairy event in Hudson, New York, this September.
