industrial organics and/or not open enough to participate
One of their facilities in Michigan, pushing 2 million, is quite likely the largest single certified "organic" egg operation in the United States. It was targeted by The Cornucopia Institute in its aerial photography surveillance. On a day with ideal weather for organic livestock to be outdoors not one chicken was visible. This resulted in Cornucopia filing a formal legal complaint against the company and, subsequently, its certifier (Quality Insurance International – QAI).
