Footprint Foods, makers of Green Cuisine®, readily shared its sourcing information with us. While they do not buy directly from family farmers, they are in the five-bean category because their supplier participated in the project and shared the North American sourcing of organic soybeans for Green Cuisine® products.

Footprint Foods provides vegetarian foods without the use of chemical solvents.

They write:

“Green Cuisine manufacturing plant was recently purchased by Ron and Carmen Wells in June, 2008. Buying Green Cuisine was a really exciting step, as they are both familiar with the brand, from their experience in the natural market industry. The Green Cuisine product line now resides under the Footprint Foods Ltd. brand.

Footprint Foods will continue providing organic, vegan, healthy products such as tofu, tempeh, amasake, and mochi. Their company also believes in offering Canadian made, natural products, introducing ways to contribute to their community; and to lower the carbon footprint in their business.”
